Driving!!

Currently, I am learning how to drive. It's both exciting and scary at the same time! It's terrifying how easily a minor thing, could become a huge thing with one tiny mistake.

And yes, I am that slow learner driver that stalls at random junctions and everybody hates because 'you get in the way'! When I say the word 'slow', I mean slow because I am obliged to stick to the limit, even in 20 zones where you're slugging along - it honestly feels like you're about to come to a stop at any minute.

Being a naive child, I thought driving would be a breeze. I expected to get in the car and have learnt how to drive perfectly (okay, maybe not perfectly, nobody's perfect) in a couple of months.

But nope, almost five months in and I'm still on the road to getting there.

Everybody's pattern of learning is different; some learn quickly, some don't. Some are naturals (at driving), some aren't. I learnt very quickly that I am not a natural and I sure as hell do not learn quickly. But it's all about repitition and practise, like anything really!

So, for me, I found the first couple of months quite tricky. It was hard to grasp the concept of moving your feet and your hands while concentrating on the road and your surroundings all at the same time. I mean, I can multitask, but this is a whole new level of multitasking!

There are weeks where I just want to give up, weeks where multiple things go wrong in one lesson and so you start to accept the fact that you'll never be able to drive and there's no point in continuing. However, I feel quite confident at the moment and I know that it just takes practise. There's no point in giving up when you've already come so far!

So, hopefully, I'll be on the roads in no time!
