FAVOURITES: Hair Care

So a few of weeks ago I shared with you my disaster with bleach!
This week, I would like to share with you my favourite hair products.

As I severely damaged my hair not long ago - damn you bleach - I have had to do some serious testing with hair care in order to restore my original soft textured hair.

So far, I have been successful and I have (mainly) Aussie hair products to thank!

Aussie Colour Mate Shampoo and 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner
These two have been my saviour, especially the conditioner!
At first, I actually used Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle 'Reconstructor' condition which literally worked miracles... After leaving it in for 3 minutes during each shower (once a day), I would wash it out and within the first week of using it, my hair was in the process of regaining some of the original texture and moisture. Now, I use this colour one as I have, for the most part, restored soft hair. Though it's not back to normal, and I know that it never will be until the bleached hair grows out, it's as close as can be. Hopefully, continuing to use these products will help my to maintain this healthier texture and moisture.

Aussie Miracle Recharge Frizz Remedy
I have found that applying this spray evenly throughout my hair, once washing, conditioning and brushing it, and then leaving it to dry naturally works a treat.
The natural frizz is dramatically decreased and I am able to style it the way I want, without worrying about frizz control.

Aussie Coloured Hair Protection and Shine Serum
As I have previously mentioned this product in its own post here, I will not go on.
However, I do believe that this product has helped me to protect my hair from further damage.

TRESemme Colour Revitalise Heat Protect Mist
Despite this product not being part of the Aussie range, I have taken a strong liking to this particular heat protection. Having used various others before, I believe that this one honestly works the best! I can't complain about heat damage because I rarely have any problems!

Childhood Favourites

Like many girls growing up during the late 90's and early 00's, I was obsessed with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

I read their books, I watched all of their movies, I watched every television programme of theirs - I practically wanted to be them!

To this day, one of my all time favourite films is It Takes Two starring Mary-Kate and Ashley.
Though this is only partly because of their acting, I just love everything about the film still!

FAVOURITES: Halloween Horror!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Living in England, I personally don't think Halloween is that big here
I know it's a huge thing in America though and I really do wish that one year I could spend Halloween there to experience the festivities

However, this year, I am stuck at home
Were shops overrun the excitement of Halloween with stocks of Christmas items and nobody really seem to make a big deal out of the possible festivities
I have found that as I've grown up, Halloween is definitely not the same as when I was a kid
Though I never really did anything super exciting, I have been to a few parties and obviously I've been trick or treating in my time

Like last year though, I am spending Halloween with my best friend where we're having a typical movie night; movies and pizza!
But in the Halloween spirit, we're only watching horrors!
One of my favourite genres!

I thought today, instead of posting costumes ideas or Halloween make-up suggestions, I could share with you some of my favourite horror films, in this post.
It's something a little different to my normal posts, but it's relevant to the time of the year :)

So here we go...

I'm not sure what my all time favourite horror would be, but this is definitely one of my favourites so far;

Featuring Bailee Madison (From Disney's Bridge to Terabithia)

Source: imdb
In the film, a young girl is sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend.
At this new house, she discovers creatures who want to claim her as one of their own.

Usually, 15 rated horror films tend to be quite simplistic and relatively the same, but this one is truly different. Personally, I loved this film and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Another favourite of mine is;

Source: imdb
Throughout the film, you watch as paranormal investigators; Ed and Lorraine Warren, work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.

It's actually being a while since I last watched this so my memory of the film is still fuzzy, however I do remember that I came out of the cinema buzzing from the brilliance of this film. I really did love it.

Finally, a third favourite of mine is;

Source: imdb

Featuring Chloƫ Grace Moretz in the 2013 remake

In the film, Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

So, I originally saw the remake in 2013, which I actually really enjoyed. However, I was told that they missed out crucial parts of the film, I decided to check out the original (from 1976). I found that the original was definitely so much better than the remake.

There's three of my favourite horror films!
I didn't want to bore you with a complete list - that could go on for a while.

Has anyone seen 'Ouija' yet? I really want to see that soon!

Do you like horror films? What are you favourite?
Also, are you doing anything fun for Halloween tonight?
Leave comments below :)

A disaster with bleach!

A couple of weeks ago, I made a spur of the moment decision... Although I really wish that I'd disregarded that thought and carried on as normal, I didn't. And now, here I am, with damaged hair in a colour that I really didn't want.

I had a thought, I always wanted to experiment with my hair colour and choose a wacky colour one day. Upon seeing a friend dying her hair all sorts of colours, from blonde to brown (natural colours), to pink and blue, I decided this was my opportunity to do something new.

I wanted a change.

Originally, I loved my hair.
Although it was dyed, that had faded to a beautiful chestnut colour.

Stupidly, I decided a dramatic change meant bleach.

Oh how I was so wrong...

Deciding to bleach my gorgeous, soft, healthy, brown hair was the biggest mistake I've made in a very long time.

For one, I hadn't bought enough. So I began bleaching, only to run out after dying only the top of my head (my roots) and no where else. Unfortunately, I realised too late. As I did this at night time, I had to trek to Boots the next day wearing a hat (in burning hot weather) to cover the mess.

Once home, I began again. This time managing to cover my whole head.

I followed all of the instructions; washed the bleach out, rubbed conditioner through my hair thoroughly and washed that out. Next, came attempting to brush my hair before blow drying it. Brushing my hair was awful, it was far too knotty. Finally, after spending 10 minutes alone just brushing my hair, I dried it. With the outcome a fizzy and completely damaged mess, to say I was upset was an understatement!

The internet was my next priority. I needed to find a way to put some moisture back into my hair. Upon searching, I stumbled across an Aussie product with raving reviews.
Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner has been my life saver.
I think I would of cried every night if I couldn't of restored my damaged hair.

I managed to persuade my mum to buy me another darker blonde hair dye, to which she did and finally got my hair to an alright colour.

I have been using Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle products for five weeks now and the difference is amazing. Despite not having my hair exactly back to normal yet, it's definitely on it's way!

My only advice to anyone wanting to bleach their hair, using purely bleaching products, is to let a professional do it!

Regardless of my recent disaster, I have big plans!
I'm planning to dye my hair a lighter blonde (using a proper dye kit this time) and then put a baby pink on. I'm going for semi-permanent pink at first, this way it won't be too bad if it goes wrong!

But, I'm praying this goes okay, because my birthday's coming up and I want it to look pretty!

Have you guys had an dying or bleaching disasters in the past?
And, if you've ever damaged your hair through colouring or heat products, I'd love to find out what products you use to replenish its natural moisture and texture

I passed!

27th May 2014: Blog post named 'Driving!!'
'Being a naĆÆve child, I thought driving would be a breeze. I expected to get in the car and have learnt how to drive perfectly (okay, maybe not perfectly, nobody's perfect) in a couple of months.

But nope, almost five months in and I'm still on the road to getting there.

There are weeks where I just want to give up, weeks where multiple things go wrong in one lesson and so you start to accept the fact that you'll never be able to drive and there's no point in continuing. However, I feel quite confident at the moment and I know that it just takes practise. There's no point in giving up when you've already come so far!
So, hopefully, I'll be on the roads in no time!'

26th September 2014
I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST!

Perseverance, motivation, dedication and practise! That's all in takes.

Top Ten Tag!

Copy and Paste everything in Bold

This Tag was made by Jessica Vannan at Pretty Chit Chat
I was tagged by Taylor at Another Fashion Fanatic - She's awesome and her blog is even better!
I would like to nominate Samantha at Small & Blonde and, of course, anyone that would like to do this!

 1. Foundation

I definitely have to go with either Lancome's Teint Visionnaire or L'Oreal's Nude Magique Eau de Teint

2. Powder

Personally, I've never used powder before.
But I know that my best friend's favourite is Rimmel London's Clear Complexion Transparent Powder

3. Concealer

It has to be Rimmel London's Wake Me Up concealer

4. Blush

On a day to day basis, I rarely use blusher as I only really wear it over foundation and I only wear foundation when my skin is particularly bad or on occasional weekends. So, I've never really gone out of my way to find the 'perfect' blusher.
I actually use one from Natural Collection in Rosey Glow. It's relatively cheap and I find that it works like a treat. For me, it's the best colour!

5. Bronzer

I haven't used many bronzer's in the past, but from what I have; Jelly Pong Pong's Caribbean Sun (bronzer duo - with blush) is my fave

6. Highlighter

Being totally honest, I have never used highlighter!
So, I can't really recommend any or tell you my favourite

7. Mascara

I like to mix and match my mascara's, so picking one is almost impossible for me. I use mainly Rimmel London mascaras; such as glam'eyes day2night and the scandal eyes collection. However, I've found that Soap & Glory's Thick & Fast mascara is excellent

8. Eye Shadow

It's got to be Urban Decay's NAKED 2 palette, hands down!

9. Brows

Like I have never used powder or highlighter, I have also never used anything on my brows either. The only thing I have done to them is pluck them!
I know - I'm a pathetic excuse for a girl, haha
I love make-up, but I only use what I need

10. Lip Product

Definitely MAC.
Any MAC lipstick and you're sorted

So, despite having not used all of the products, there is my top ten list.
I apologise for the lack of pictures... I haven't had much spare time recently :\

I hope you enjoyed this list and if you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them, just pop them in the comment section below!

An awful blogger... I'm sorry!

So, I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been active on this blog for an awfully long time... It's shameful.

It's been almost 3 weeks to be precise.

I started to complete 'My Top Ten' tag post, but for some reason I didn't finish it and so it's been sat there, untouched, for three whole weeks.
I plan on getting that finished this weekend, and for it to be my first of many more posts to come!

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise.
My plan for this blog was not to abandon it for weeks on end, but to become somewhat successful and happy with my progress. This, however, is a step in the wrong direction.
I do plan to organise myself better and begin to balance everything going on in my life.

My main reason for not blogging is school - I'm sure that a lot of you guys can relate to me with this! Starting back in September was a real shock to my system. Despite only taking three subjects and one enrichment course at sixth form, it's a hell of a lot of work. I was definitely not prepared for the sheer quantity of time year 13 would take up.
Honestly, I thought it couldn't get harder than last year, but boy was I wrong!

Recently, my life has consisted of variety of things:
- The dreaded UCAS application; including the one and only, the dreaded: Personal Statement!
- Homework; and it's bloody hard at this level (Year 13)
- Volunteering for my enrichment course
- Attempting to find a part-time job
- Trying to find voluntary work relating to my choice in university course
- Various personal events
- Sleeping; and catching up on much needed sleep
And finally;
- Attempting to have a social life!

Unfortunately, I have let blogging slip whilst doing this...
But, my intention is to organise myself better and hopefully increase the amount of posts I make monthly. At least once a week in my aim, for the time being - that's a start I guess!

I'm slowly (but surely) organising myself into a proper routine.
So, I should be back on track with regular posts very soon!

Hopeless graphic designer...

I'm not quite sure whether 'graphic designer' is the correct term, but what I'm trying to say is that I'm looking to spice up my blog a little.
I want to move things around to make it look more colourful and attractive.
Organise my posts a bit better.
I want to make a nice title and possibly create a header picture to go with the theme.
I want to add pictures around the edges and maybe a few advertisements - this way there's more going on and more to appeal to people.
At the minute my blog is a bit all over the place.
As I'm fairly new to the blogging world, I haven't quite found my place just yet. I'm still experimenting with posts and finding what suits me.
But, I feel like if I get my blog whipped into order, I'll be able to play about and find my main focus and purpose for this blog!
If anyone has any tips or advice on how to personalise and design a blog, please comment or feel free to contact me!

As a side note, I just wanted to apologise for my lack of posts recently.
Having started back at sixth form a couple of weeks ago, I've been snowed under in homework. Beginning Year 13 was never going to be a walk in the park, but I definitely different expect the sheer quantity of work I would be getting!
Hopefully, I'll get myself together soon enough, and I can get back into blogging more frequently again!

Second thoughts...

As the deadline for completing my university application is drawing closer and closer, I'm starting to think more.

Now, I know that some of you might be thinking that the new academic year hasn't even started yet and the deadline isn't for a good few months but I'm one of those people that worry. I worry quite a lot and that then leads me to become anxious. It's hard for me to relax and de-stress when there's something on my mind. But, I can't let it go until it's sorted. I began my search for universities and the 'right' course  relatively early; I've been researching, visiting uni's and looking at courses since April/May.

Previously, I'd had many doubts about my choice in course for university. I never fully made a decision and I explored a large variety of options. Finally, I found a selection of courses that I'm genuinely interested in and am happy with. But now, I'm doubting it again. There are a few reasons for my doubts; all of my past experience lies in a completely different area, I don't feel passionate about one subject although I have many hobbies, and I don't have a clue what I want to do or aim for in the future.
What are you supposed to base your decision on when you don't even have a goal for life?

I know that it's an extremely tough decision for most people and we're not expected to know what we want to do at 17/18. But still, I don't feel confident with my latest decision and I fear making a huge mistake. I don't want to complete three years, build up all of that debt, and come out regretting my choice in course.

This is such a life changing experience that I can't afford to make the wrong decision. No matter what anybody says, I will not feel comfortable going to university unless I'm positively confident about my choice in university.

So, although I have a couple of months until my sixth form's UCAS application deadline, I'm starting to toy with the idea of deferring my entry into university and taking a gap year. Although I know deferring my entry means I still need to apply and will eventually except an offer (if I get any!) by summer next year, I think that I can use the time to maybe 'find myself', get some proper work experience, get some life experience away from home, create some amazing memories and make a more informed and mature decision about university at the end of it. Hopefully then I will feel much more happy and confident with my final decision.

This post is quite personal to me in that I'm not so much of an open, talk to people to get what's on my mind off of my chest, kind of person. So, this is my way of expressing how I'm feeling in a way that I feel comfortable with.

FAVOURITES: Aussie

A couple of weeks ago, before my holiday this summer, I had my hair dyed and so in preparation for my holiday I decided to pop out and purchase some hair products for coloured hair.

Alongside some Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner, I also picked this up.

This is Aussie's Coloured Hair Protection and Shine Serum.

The directions for use says that it can be applied to wet or dry hair.
So, after it'd been washed, I put a small amount in the palm of my hands and spread it evenly throughout my hair everyday.
I tried to keep away from my roots as my hair tends to get greasy easily as it's quite oily at the base.
But, I found that this stuff works wonders.

In previous years, after dying my hair I've only ever really used colour protection shampoo and conditioner, but not really cared for it after that. This usually lead to damaged hair.

However, this year I've been able to maintain a nice texture to my hair whilst using this serum. Also, I've noticed how much healthier it is compared to before!

I definitely recommend this product to anyone with coloured hair that uses heated appliances (such as your hair dryer, straighteners or curlers) often and/or anyone who is exposed to the blazing sun on a daily basis.
Living in Britain, the sun isn't really a major concern of mine but using heated appliances is.

I know that I'll continue to use this product as it gives the best possible results

P A R A D I S E

After watching the Kardashian's visit Bora Bora, I couldn't help but wish to visit this beautiful island

It just seems so peaceful and tranquil.
The water looks really fresh and pure, the shack looks incredible and it's so secluded.
It'd be the perfect relaxing get away, if it wasn't so expensive or so far away!

A keen writer...

As a keen writer, I've always wanted to write a whole fictional story.
I put emphasis on the world 'whole' as I have tried to write before but I can never make myself actually finish the story.

Usually, I think of a great idea (well, what I think is a great idea anyway!!) and I plan it to a certain extent. After that, I begin the writing process.
As a full time student, I can only really write at weekends once I've completed all of my homework and spent some time relaxing and socialising.
I realise that this leaves very little time and I'm probably working on a stressed out mind which definitely can't be good. I already know that much.
After a couple of weeks, sometimes days, I become terribly bored and can't bring myself to write anymore good material. It turns into a truly awful story and I can't bring myself to actually finish it.
It's like I've run out of creative ideas for the story line and so I doubt my writing and give up. I end up losing all of the motivation I began with and just delete the story I started writing.

This habit is so annoying to me. I want to be able to write a whole story, edit it and maybe even publish it online for readers to enjoy. So, I was wondering if anyone had any advice?

I don't know whether I need to make a more detailed plan to start with?
And possibly create a timetable for writing, in between school work and relaxing.
Or write more continuously, rather than just at the weekends and in limited periods of time.

If anybody does have any advice, I'd be forever grateful!
Free to comment down below!

Thank you

My Summer Wish List

A fellow blogger, Jadiee, used a popular trend that's going around and turned it into a tag. She tagged me and so here I am, typing away!

How it works, as I assume, is that you think of five things that you wish to do or achieve this summer and then you list them.
Pretty simple really.

So, here goes...

My five wishes for this is summer are:

1. To get a tan
For the previous couple of years I haven't been able to get a good tan as I've visited places that are very hot and humid and I cannot stand the heat. Despite wishing that I actually loved the heat, like my mother, I physically can't hack it.
Every single year my mum comes home looking as brown as ever and I am just the same old pale milk bottle! I guess last year I did tan a bit more than usual so I was happy with that. But, this year I'm aiming for a full on tan that I'm proud of! haha

2. To tone up
As a teenager, school is time consuming and then your free time is taken up by socialising and relaxing. So, exercise doesn't always take priority. Unless you're an athlete of course.
I do try to maintain my fitness, however I'm aiming to get toned this summer. As well as hopefully shedding a few pounds!

3. To treat my family so they know how much I really appreciate them
My parents do everything for me and I really want to do something special for them this summer. Even if it's just something simple, like going on a walk and buying them an ice-cream. I know they're willing to do everything that they do do for me, but sometimes I'm spoilt far too much and I don't feel like I do that much in return.
Also, I have two grandparents who, over the years, have spent valuable time and money on me. All of which I hold amazing memories from and appreciate so much. This summer I want to do something for each of them to show them how much I still love to spend time with them although they can't do as much as they used to.

4. To pass my driving test!
After recently passing my (driving) theory test, I'm beginning to think about my practical now.
Having started learning at the end of Decemeber, I've set a target for myself to pass before my birthday (which is in Novemeber) so if I can get it done by September that would be brilliant.

5. To enjoy some new adventures with my friends
Throughout my teen years I've been super fortunate. I've visited so many different cities across England with my friends and we've done a range of things, mostly shopping!
But I'd love to do something new; something different that we will all enjoy and remember the amazing memories we make. Especially as we will be leaving each other and heading off to university soon.

All of these wishes are very personal to me.
(They're definitely not in priority order either!)
As I grow older and get that one step closer to finally moving out, I want to make the most of the time I've got left at home. These years are ones I'll remember for a long time so I want to be able to reminisce on great times, not just the same old.

I'd love to see what your wishes for this summer are.

I tag everyone reading to complete this list.
And if you do, make sure to comment with your link so I can check them out:)
Also, if you don't write a blog, write out your list in the comments!

Something I dislike...

So there are many things I dislike about myself, but there's one main thing.

That main thing is that I'm easily influenced by my friends, by the people I go to sixth form with, by my family, by society.

In some ways that's a good thing, but in others it just causes pressure.

Personally, I know that I'm not influenced in all ways. I am my own person and I know that I have many qualities that make me unique. I don't try to change them to accommodate others.

However, in some ways I catch myself being influenced by those around me and it really bugs me.

Obviously, as I am aware of this habit I try to control it.

Being influenced by peers is a great way of shaping who you are and learning about your likes/dislikes while you are growing up.

Influence teaches you new things everyday.

But, the thing that bugs me about being influenced by those around me is that I find myself doing things I'm not comfortable with, things I didn't actually want to do in the first place and things that (sometimes) I later regret.

Don't get me wrong, I won't crumble under peer pressure if it's something dangerous or illegal but it's the little things I catch myself doing.

I'm not an arrogant person, I don't love myself and I definitely don't want everything to be about me. But I am a nice person, I'd rather please others and do things to help those around me. I get that from my parents, we're all softies - sometimes I wish that wasn't the case, however I think it has many more rewards.

I always find that I feel as though no one will want to do what I want, or they won't be happy with my decisions and so I avoid making any if I can. But the thing is, I know my friends would be totally okay with what I want to do. They're not self-centred people either.
I just feel like I should do whatever pleases them and nobody can change that feeling, it's something I always feel but I don't feel it in a way that puts me down.

Now, I'm not always like this.
I do make decisions and I do organise things with my friends.
I think my friends are similar to me as we all don't really like making the decisions and so compromise is a great thing!

If you're anything like me, just remember your decision will not be ignored or you will not be judged because of it.
You're entitled to your opinions and preferences.
Don't feel like everybody else is right.
And most importantly, don't let people walk all over you.
Do whatever makes you happy!

Be yourself.
There's nothing better than someone who is there own person!

UNIVERSITY? GAP YEAR? APPRENTICESHIP?

What do you want to do when you leave sixth form?

University? Apprenticeship? Work? Gap Year?

What university do you want to go to?

What do you want to study?

Where will you live?

How are you going to manage your money?

It's all so overwhelming for a 17 year old.

Although you know all of this is coming, you can never prepare yourself for the pressure and stress that choosing your future will put on you.
Especially if you're a worrier or you like things to be organised and planned like me.
However, I know that for some this kind of thing doesn't phase them too much.
For those like this, I'm very jealous of you!
One thing I've learnt about myself recently is that I put a lot of pressure on myself and so things like this become stupidly stressful and exhausting. I'm so glad that I've realised this because now I know that I need to work on controlling it. If you're anything like me, you will know that it's a horrible habit.

Personally, I've chosen to go down the university route so I'm in the process of researching different places and visiting them on open days.
I think I have picked the course for me however as I can't fully decide, I'm on the edge which is okay at this stage.
My big worry is picking a course and regretting that decision from the day I begin the course in October 2015 - money is the main reason for this worry as it is a lot of money to have in debt if you never really wanted to go to university in the first place.
Although I have a bit of pressure from my parents to go to university, I definitely think I want to go.
I'm not going just because of my parents - I think that would be a mistake.

My advice for anybody looking at universities now is to do what you want.
Don't go to university just because your parents want you to, it's not their future, it's yours.
Also, don't do a certain course because your parents want you to.
They might want you to be a lawyer, but your heart might lay in photography!
I understand that you don't want to upset them and you might feel as though that's your only option, but you need to be in control of your own life. If you go to university and don't enjoy it, you will probably feel like you wasted three years of your life when you could be travelling and gaining experience or building up your skills through an apprenticeship or a full time job.
That's not always the case for some people; although you might not enjoy your course, you might love the experience and the social life.
But, if you choose to do something other than you're parents wishes, they will understand in the long run.
Remember they only want the best for you!
They might think that university is the way for you, but only you truly know what you want to do.

What are your thoughts on university?
What about your experiences? Or your worries?

Despite my worries and stress at this stage, I'm still really excited to go to university.
I can't wait to end my school life and begin a new adventure.

The TMI Tag :)

So, whilst reading some new blogs I stumbled across, I found that this tag was a reoccurring post.
After reading Louise Robertson's TMI post, I decided I might as well give it a go myself as she tagged everybody reading it to give it a ago.

So, here goes...

1. What are you wearing?
Just a pair of pale grey shorts and a plain black vest
They're my favourite 'lounge around the house/comfy clothes'

2. Have you ever been in love?
Nope
3. Have you ever had a terrible break up?
No, thankfully!
4. How tall are you?
