FAVOURITES: Halloween Horror!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Living in England, I personally don't think Halloween is that big here
I know it's a huge thing in America though and I really do wish that one year I could spend Halloween there to experience the festivities

However, this year, I am stuck at home
Were shops overrun the excitement of Halloween with stocks of Christmas items and nobody really seem to make a big deal out of the possible festivities
I have found that as I've grown up, Halloween is definitely not the same as when I was a kid
Though I never really did anything super exciting, I have been to a few parties and obviously I've been trick or treating in my time

Like last year though, I am spending Halloween with my best friend where we're having a typical movie night; movies and pizza!
But in the Halloween spirit, we're only watching horrors!
One of my favourite genres!

I thought today, instead of posting costumes ideas or Halloween make-up suggestions, I could share with you some of my favourite horror films, in this post.
It's something a little different to my normal posts, but it's relevant to the time of the year :)

So here we go...

I'm not sure what my all time favourite horror would be, but this is definitely one of my favourites so far;

Featuring Bailee Madison (From Disney's Bridge to Terabithia)

In the film, a young girl is sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend.
At this new house, she discovers creatures who want to claim her as one of their own.

Usually, 15 rated horror films tend to be quite simplistic and relatively the same, but this one is truly different. Personally, I loved this film and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Another favourite of mine is;

Source: imdb
Throughout the film, you watch as paranormal investigators; Ed and Lorraine Warren, work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.

It's actually being a while since I last watched this so my memory of the film is still fuzzy, however I do remember that I came out of the cinema buzzing from the brilliance of this film. I really did love it.

Finally, a third favourite of mine is;

Source: imdb

Featuring Chloë Grace Moretz in the 2013 remake

In the film, Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

So, I originally saw the remake in 2013, which I actually really enjoyed. However, I was told that they missed out crucial parts of the film, I decided to check out the original (from 1976). I found that the original was definitely so much better than the remake.

There's three of my favourite horror films!
I didn't want to bore you with a complete list - that could go on for a while.

Has anyone seen 'Ouija' yet? I really want to see that soon!

Do you like horror films? What are you favourite?
Also, are you doing anything fun for Halloween tonight?
Leave comments below :)

Lily Collins wearing Elie Saab

I'd like to use my picture of the week to admire this gorgeous dress.

Lily Collins wearing Elie Saab at the 'Love, Rosie' Rome Premier

I'm not exactly sure why this dress in particular, over the thousands of others, caught the attention of the internet recently...
But, what I can take from the picture is that this dress is absolutely stunning.
And, it suits Lily Collins perfectly.

Picture of the Week

My last 'Picture of the Week' was on 25th August 2014.

I know, I know.. I'm awful at keeping with these kinds of things and my blogging has fallen short recently. But, I am determined to get back into it. Beginning with general posts once a week and a picture of the week!

So, here we go...

A disaster with bleach!

A couple of weeks ago, I made a spur of the moment decision... Although I really wish that I'd disregarded that thought and carried on as normal, I didn't. And now, here I am, with damaged hair in a colour that I really didn't want.

I had a thought, I always wanted to experiment with my hair colour and choose a wacky colour one day. Upon seeing a friend dying her hair all sorts of colours, from blonde to brown (natural colours), to pink and blue, I decided this was my opportunity to do something new.

I wanted a change.

Originally, I loved my hair.
Although it was dyed, that had faded to a beautiful chestnut colour.

Stupidly, I decided a dramatic change meant bleach.

Oh how I was so wrong...

Deciding to bleach my gorgeous, soft, healthy, brown hair was the biggest mistake I've made in a very long time.

For one, I hadn't bought enough. So I began bleaching, only to run out after dying only the top of my head (my roots) and no where else. Unfortunately, I realised too late. As I did this at night time, I had to trek to Boots the next day wearing a hat (in burning hot weather) to cover the mess.

Once home, I began again. This time managing to cover my whole head.

I followed all of the instructions; washed the bleach out, rubbed conditioner through my hair thoroughly and washed that out. Next, came attempting to brush my hair before blow drying it. Brushing my hair was awful, it was far too knotty. Finally, after spending 10 minutes alone just brushing my hair, I dried it. With the outcome a fizzy and completely damaged mess, to say I was upset was an understatement!

The internet was my next priority. I needed to find a way to put some moisture back into my hair. Upon searching, I stumbled across an Aussie product with raving reviews.
Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner has been my life saver.
I think I would of cried every night if I couldn't of restored my damaged hair.

I managed to persuade my mum to buy me another darker blonde hair dye, to which she did and finally got my hair to an alright colour.

I have been using Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle products for five weeks now and the difference is amazing. Despite not having my hair exactly back to normal yet, it's definitely on it's way!

My only advice to anyone wanting to bleach their hair, using purely bleaching products, is to let a professional do it!

Regardless of my recent disaster, I have big plans!
I'm planning to dye my hair a lighter blonde (using a proper dye kit this time) and then put a baby pink on. I'm going for semi-permanent pink at first, this way it won't be too bad if it goes wrong!

But, I'm praying this goes okay, because my birthday's coming up and I want it to look pretty!

Have you guys had an dying or bleaching disasters in the past?
And, if you've ever damaged your hair through colouring or heat products, I'd love to find out what products you use to replenish its natural moisture and texture

I passed!

27th May 2014: Blog post named 'Driving!!'
'Being a naïve child, I thought driving would be a breeze. I expected to get in the car and have learnt how to drive perfectly (okay, maybe not perfectly, nobody's perfect) in a couple of months.

But nope, almost five months in and I'm still on the road to getting there.

There are weeks where I just want to give up, weeks where multiple things go wrong in one lesson and so you start to accept the fact that you'll never be able to drive and there's no point in continuing. However, I feel quite confident at the moment and I know that it just takes practise. There's no point in giving up when you've already come so far!
So, hopefully, I'll be on the roads in no time!'

26th September 2014
I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST!

Perseverance, motivation, dedication and practise! That's all in takes.

Top Ten Tag!

Copy and Paste everything in Bold

This Tag was made by Jessica Vannan at Pretty Chit Chat
I was tagged by Taylor at Another Fashion Fanatic - She's awesome and her blog is even better!
I would like to nominate Samantha at Small & Blonde and, of course, anyone that would like to do this!

 1. Foundation

I definitely have to go with either Lancome's Teint Visionnaire or L'Oreal's Nude Magique Eau de Teint

2. Powder

Personally, I've never used powder before.
But I know that my best friend's favourite is Rimmel London's Clear Complexion Transparent Powder

3. Concealer

It has to be Rimmel London's Wake Me Up concealer

4. Blush

On a day to day basis, I rarely use blusher as I only really wear it over foundation and I only wear foundation when my skin is particularly bad or on occasional weekends. So, I've never really gone out of my way to find the 'perfect' blusher.
I actually use one from Natural Collection in Rosey Glow. It's relatively cheap and I find that it works like a treat. For me, it's the best colour!

5. Bronzer

I haven't used many bronzer's in the past, but from what I have; Jelly Pong Pong's Caribbean Sun (bronzer duo - with blush) is my fave

6. Highlighter

Being totally honest, I have never used highlighter!
So, I can't really recommend any or tell you my favourite

7. Mascara

I like to mix and match my mascara's, so picking one is almost impossible for me. I use mainly Rimmel London mascaras; such as glam'eyes day2night and the scandal eyes collection. However, I've found that Soap & Glory's Thick & Fast mascara is excellent

8. Eye Shadow

It's got to be Urban Decay's NAKED 2 palette, hands down!

9. Brows

Like I have never used powder or highlighter, I have also never used anything on my brows either. The only thing I have done to them is pluck them!
I know - I'm a pathetic excuse for a girl, haha
I love make-up, but I only use what I need

10. Lip Product

Definitely MAC.
Any MAC lipstick and you're sorted

So, despite having not used all of the products, there is my top ten list.
I apologise for the lack of pictures... I haven't had much spare time recently :\

I hope you enjoyed this list and if you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them, just pop them in the comment section below!

An awful blogger... I'm sorry!

So, I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been active on this blog for an awfully long time... It's shameful.

It's been almost 3 weeks to be precise.

I started to complete 'My Top Ten' tag post, but for some reason I didn't finish it and so it's been sat there, untouched, for three whole weeks.
I plan on getting that finished this weekend, and for it to be my first of many more posts to come!

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise.
My plan for this blog was not to abandon it for weeks on end, but to become somewhat successful and happy with my progress. This, however, is a step in the wrong direction.
I do plan to organise myself better and begin to balance everything going on in my life.

My main reason for not blogging is school - I'm sure that a lot of you guys can relate to me with this! Starting back in September was a real shock to my system. Despite only taking three subjects and one enrichment course at sixth form, it's a hell of a lot of work. I was definitely not prepared for the sheer quantity of time year 13 would take up.
Honestly, I thought it couldn't get harder than last year, but boy was I wrong!

Recently, my life has consisted of variety of things:
- The dreaded UCAS application; including the one and only, the dreaded: Personal Statement!
- Homework; and it's bloody hard at this level (Year 13)
- Volunteering for my enrichment course
- Attempting to find a part-time job
- Trying to find voluntary work relating to my choice in university course
- Various personal events
- Sleeping; and catching up on much needed sleep
And finally;
- Attempting to have a social life!

Unfortunately, I have let blogging slip whilst doing this...
But, my intention is to organise myself better and hopefully increase the amount of posts I make monthly. At least once a week in my aim, for the time being - that's a start I guess!

I'm slowly (but surely) organising myself into a proper routine.
So, I should be back on track with regular posts very soon!
